The Famous Greek Spirit Tsipouro
The first production of Tsipouro was the work of some monks. This happened in the 14th century on Mount Athos in Macedonia, Greece. Depending on the time of year, Tsipouro was used either as refreshment or as a hot beverage, and depending on the time of day, it replaced the drinking of coffee or wine. Tsipouro is a genuine Greek product. It is not produced in any other part of the world except Greece. Tsipouro is a strong distilled spirit containing approximately 36% alcohol per volume and is produced from the must-residue of the winepress.
Tsipouro, Raki and Tsikoudia, as with all alcoholic beverages in Greece, always seemed to coincide with various social gatherings, as their consumption had a festive and symposium-like quality. Today, Tsipouro has been acknowledged and appreciated by consumers and is recommended by wine drinkers from all over the world.

The Famous Greek Spirit Metaxa
Metaxa is distinguished as the most famous Greek spirit worldwide. Metaxa is a special Greek spirit invented by a silk trader named Spyros Metaxas. This happened in 1888 in the Attica region (Athens). Since then, the product has earned world recognition for its quality, colour and taste.
The product has been marketed very well all around the world and became famous creating a very large number of dedicated lovers. With such world recognition, it is not strange that Metaxa is subject of a kind of hysteria worldwide concerning its supply. This "hysteria" is amplified by the fact that some types of Metaxa are very difficult to find or are found only at selected shops around the world. Metaxa is produced from Savatiano, Sultanina and Black Corinth, twice distilled, married with aged muscat wine from Samos & Lemnos, blended with a secret botanical mix and then aged in hand made limousine oak casks.
